Ongole Cow Breed – Overall Experience:
Excellent docile breed non corrosive nature and love for the owner.
One off the best indigenous dual purpose breed. Renowned world over for its hardiness and strength. Throughout the world accepted as best breed. Here in home tract losing its ground because of cross breeding high cost off bulls and due to lack of gauchar bhoomi. Main reason lack of proper govt. policy.
key for ongole is its preservation or will get extinct in next few years.
Views on the Breed:
- Best indigenous breed, dual purpose majestic bulls and cows look like damsels when they walk.
- Need to save this magnificent Gau Matas.
- Need to educate farmers they only can save this breed otherwise we will see them in zoo after 15yrs.
- Need comprehensive policy to save this pride of Bharat.
